Garmin marketing. Have they a strategy for their own software? They sell the trainers with the argument, that you can run Zwift on it.

The strategy seems to be LET IT FADE INTO THE ETHER they don`t seem to want to invest in their own (Tacx) software

I guess one way Tacx could structure the subscription program is to sell it by the gigabyte per month and let customers decide how they want to use their allotment each month.

I have excellent was 150Mbps now 200 from virgin..TDA downloading and streaming is great/very good respectively and this with cable connected or wifi (have it on desktop and laptop) i find TDA very slick easy to use. TTA is device dependant..as using same wifi i have a really unrewarding experience ...

Yes, correct.. there is no way to via internet.. can through LAN but never tried myself

Garmin or Tacx may have the courtesy to reopen the TTS4 activation server at the time of the Coronavirus. Just the fact that RED is flashing then indicates there is malfunction (you have both flashing) and error codes website states to contact support via the link in error codes site.. have you contacted them..

Sorry for the silly question but is that screen shot from TTS or the Tacx Desktop App? TDA TacxDesktopApp. And each of those "widgets" with the info/data can be removed individually or all at once so see more of the film.. they can also be resized to quite small so as not to obscure film ...
