RLV's, W10, and Video Player 2?

Since Tacx removed the old forums, the wealth of user data has been lost for the ages, thus I am now left to hope someone here remembers what it takes to help me get Video Player 2 working on an MSI Stealth, Win10 gaming laptop with 16gb RAM and Nvidia GPU. Player 1 works okay but the playback seems somewhat notchy, but despite setting TTS to use the NVidia GPU instead of the integrated Intel graphics adapter, as soon as I launch the video, TTS displays the initializing message then poof, TTS closes. I have a suspicion that the Nvidia GPU outputs to the two mini display ports, but I am connected via HDMI. I also seem to recall a discussion on the old forum about CODEC's and such. Anyone recall the specifics?
